Virgo Full Moon – In Service of the Cosmos
Virgo Full Moon on Sunday morning 3/12. This is the first Full Moon following the Pisces Solar Eclipse two weeks prior, and given that, it’s the first great opportunity to harvest some of its seeds.
If the Pisces Solar Eclipse (and this current lunar cycle) was about deeply letting go of a barrier that prevented us from opening more fully to all of Creation, with this Virgo Full Moon we find the opportunity to ground that in the world.
Perhaps the Solar Eclipse two weeks ago resulted in some quick, visible shifts for some, but I feel that for many of us it was a bit subtler. I feel that for many of us, perhaps something deep did shift, but it was done on a largely unconscious level. These shifts may be slowly revealing themselves now, and it’s likely that we’re still unpacking the received Cosmic download.
With the Virgo Full Moon, we find the opportunity to actualize one (or more) of the gifts we received. We might even allow it to find some sort of service to humanity. And service doesn’t necessarily mean something grand or Mother Theresa-like, but it can easily be something done on a day-by-day, moment-
by-moment basis. Allow me to illustrate with an example from my life.
Grounding it in the World
I work part-time at a coffee shop, and I’ve struggled with the hours on end of platonic pleasantries and
relative surface-level platitudes. At the same time, I was struggling with feelings of loneliness (the irony of which was somewhat lost on me at the time).
In realizing that, “If there’s one thing that should be available in abundance, it’s love and intimacy. There’s so many of us!” (credit: Charles Eisenstein), over the past few days I’ve been able to wordlessly hold space for the divine being that each person is. It’s been a very subtle shift in approach, but I think people have definitely been feeling it. I know I have.
The fact is that each person holds within them the depth of the entire Universe (Neptune/Pisces). And while this has become something of a cliché in new age circles, the truth of it is no less real. And it’s one thing to pay lip service to this or to have a cognitive awareness of the concept, but to look someone in the eyes and truly see and feel that without pretense and without agenda is a whole different animal. So there’s no reason that anyone should ever feel lonely, and in that, we can all serve each other (Virgo).
Thank you for allowing me to share my experience, I feel that it illustrates the Pisces/Virgo dynamic quite nicely. Both are service oriented, and when blended (as any opposite signs ultimately need to be) it becomes about service to humanity, serving something greater than us all.
The Lion Tamer
The Sabian Symbol for this Virgo Full Moon is “A lion tamer displays his skill and character.” In attempting to tame the vastness of the Cosmic ocean, we become lion tamers of the highest magnitude. But of course, all we can ever do is break off a piece. And that opportunity exists now.
